War on drugs.. Is it really a war we'll ever win?

I think it is kind of funny when they announce drug bust on local news or in the news paper. And the reason I make this statement is that if we were serious about winning this war on drugs, we'd go after the big king pins, instead of the guy who is seller on the streets, or the druggies they are sold to! The real truth is that selling drugs is a money maker and the goverment knows it is too! If you look back in history, they're was a time during prohibition that they tried very unsuccessfully I might add. Trying to arrest anyone make whiskey and other alcohol. I am not a drug person.. I hate any type of drugs unless the are given by a doctor. But I wonder if we wouldn't have all the gang related shootings all over the US if you get by drugs in a legal fashion? Because I can say the war on drugs is one WE ARE NOT going to win! What is your opinion on this?
